Hazardous SampleTransport Containers
The TC-4 was developed by the U.S. Army S.B.C.COM at A.P.G.E.A. Maryland to fulfill the need for a transport container that would allow for one person to safely transport chemical and biological samples in one container from the collection point in the field all the way to the lab. The Sample Transport Containers are constructed and tested by GERMFREE, a company with 40 years of experience manufacturing biological and chemical high containment safety equipment.
The units are constructed from all welded, type 304 stainless steel and rely on proven double O-ring seals for complete containment. The top flange has two-machined grooves for the two standard size O-ring’s. The bolt on lid and top flange are 3/16-inch thick stainless steel plate. The round tube body is heavy gauge stainless steel. The container has overall dimensions of approximately 20 ¼” long x 6.5” diameter. The container is designed to carry four 500-ml secondary over pack containers each containing a 60-ml primary container. The case functions as a storage and transport unit. The unit is designed, built and tested to withstand various military and industrial hazardous sample containment tests with each unit pressure tested to 20 psi and required to hold pressure for 24 hours. These containers have passed drop tests by maintaining an internal positive pressure of 20 psi during 6 consecutive free falls of greater than 5 meters to a concrete floor.
Includes:
- 8 machined bolt holes with bolts and nuts for positive tamper proof seal
- Stainless steel handles welded on the lid and on the container
- All containers are welded by certified AWS welders
The Sample Transport Containers are all welded stainless steel construction and are available in two standard sizes. The containers are designed to carry two or four samples. The samples are contained in a 60 ml. Primary Container housed within a 500 ml Secondary Container then placed within the Stainless Steel Transport Container. The unit is designed, built, and tested to withstand various military and industrial hazardous sample containment tests.
