Germfree's Modular Laboratory Buildings provide primary and secondary containment that serve as the foundation to support diverse applications including operations up toBSL-3 and even BSL-3Ag. Germfree designs modular buildings that differ from traditional U.S. based modular construction techniques. We do not use wooden floors/studs or drywall. Germfree uses all metal construction for durability and integrity. Our modular labs are built with monolithic floors, walls and ceilings. There are no seams, cracks or crevices where microbiological growth could occur. All corners are radiused and seamless flooring is coved up the wall for easy cleaning and to insure effective decontamination.

Single section labs are 14’ x 50’ and can be joined together to create larger lab spaces. Whether intended as stand-alone labs or for connection to existing facilities, Germfree’s modular labs include pre-certified and commissioned BSL/HVAC systems to facilitate fast on-site set up and operation.

Germfree provides ABSL-3 as well as BSL-3Ag Modular Lab Buildings for animal housing and animal laboratory operations (Vivarium). Our standard modular BSL-3 construction methods provide the required sealed laboratory interior. Germfree's modular units are ideal for these applications, as BSL-3Ag requires airtight doors along with numerous other critical components. Our modular labs can be supplied with full structural stainless steel interior walls suitable to house livestock. Germfree also manufactures containerized animal facilities, ideal for international operations.
