Containment ready modular BSL laboratories

Modular BSL Laboratories

Install it freestanding, or connect it into a lab you already run. Either way, our modular BSL laboratories and biocontainment facilities arrive built off-site as a complete platform, with the HVAC and MEP your process and equipment need already designed in. Germfree modular laboratories have been running biocontainment work worldwide for decades, at BSL-2, BSL-3, and up to BSL-4.

Built to contain the most hazardous agents in the world

Biocontainment work demands a level of process control, reliability, cleanability, and containment most facilities never have to meet. Decades of facility engineering experience shape how we design for it: niche process and personnel flows, and modular BSL laboratories built with entry rooms, gowning rooms and storage, personnel air locks (PALs), material air locks (MALs), shared corridors, restrooms, and mechanical rooms.

Modular Biocontainment Lab Layouts

Explore our standard modular BSL laboratories’ layouts options that cover a broad range of applications and process flows. If these do not meet your application needs, learn more about our custom solutions.

Single Module BSL-2 Laboratory

The room classification flow of this facility is an entryroom connected to an anteroom leading to the main BSL-2 recirculating laboratory suite.

Single Module BSL-3 Laboratory

The room classification flow of this facility is an entryroom, anteroom with sink and gowning bench leading to the main BSL-3 100% exhaust laboratory suite.

All modular facilities contain an integrated and mechanical space. In some regions an external HVAC chiller (pictured) is needed for BSL-3.

When your mission calls for something custom, we deliver.

Some environments can’t take a catalog answer: the one-of-a-kind containment lab, the facility that has to survive shipment by military aircraft, the compounding pharmacy that has to stand up overnight. Tell us the constraints, we’ll build around them.
