Germfree delivers tailored ISO 5 RABs unit to protect AST's patented filling machine
AST faced a unique challenge – the company needed an ISO 5 environment to house and protect its patented small bath filling and sealing machine, the GENiSYS R. Germfree was tasked with developing a RABS for Sterile Filling - a unit to protect one of the company's most important assets, a comprehensive and highly secure product that AST could use both internally and for its own customers.

Size: 15’ long, 4’ wide RABs unit
Layout configurations: 17 gloves for emergency personnel interaction, 2 rapid transfer ports, coved ceiling for improved cleanability
Germfree designed and built a 15-foot long, 4-foot wide RABs unit that contained 17 gloves for emergency personnel interaction. The RABs unit included 2 rapid transfer ports at the capping stage to introduce sterile caps easily. The ceiling featured a concave design to enhance cleanability and ensure a high level of cleanliness within the unit.
Germfree successfully delivered a tailored ISO 5 RABs unit to AST to house and protect their patented small bath filling and closing machine, the GENiSYS R. The entire unit was designed and built by Germfree, showcasing their expertise in delivering tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of a specific application.
Not only is the original unit still operational and active, but the Germfree solution has also been offered to third-party operators. AST has acquired two additional RABS from Germfree, highlighting the success and satisfaction of this project. The solution not only met AST’s specific requirements but also exceeded industry standards for cleanrooms. Germfree’s excellence in producing tailored was once again showcased throughout the execution of this product.
