The challenge

Provide an operational USP 797 and 800 compliant drug compounding pharmacy cleanroom trailer during renovations.

The answer

Germfree acknowledges that finding a fully operational sterile compounding facility during renovations can be a significant challenge. This allows our dedicated team to work with you to find a suitable solution that meets your needs and ensures uninterrupted service. Germfree’s mobile facilities are designed to meet this critical need by providing a flexible and highly controlled environment for sterile drug preparation suitable for peak capacity, long-term growth, and operations during facility renovations. Germfree’s service team provide remote monitoring, preventative maintenance and service support 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

How we helped

In 2015, Germfree delivered a mobile pharmacy cleanroom trailer to Duke Raleigh Hospital to ensure sterile compounding operations could continue during renovations to the main building. Constructed of durable medical-grade materials, the trailer is designed to handle the heavy workload of Duke’s compounding pharmacy, making it suitable for continuous daily use. The two ISO 7 buffer rooms provide a highly controlled environment for sterile compounding, with independent antechambers further enhancing environmental control.

Mobile sterile compounding pharmacy details

The Germfree-designed cleanroom trailer for sterile compounding pharmacies perfectly complies with USP <797> and <800> pharmaceutical requirements. It features two buffer rooms with independent anterooms, one operating at positive and negative pressure. This design ensures a highly controlled environment for the preparation of sterile pharmaceuticals. Germfree’s mobile cleanroom trailer is designed to be versatile and can be delivered to any location in the world quickly.

While these mobile cleanrooms are initially offered for purchase or lease, their adaptability allows for a dynamic use that can evolve as the needs of the facility change. In some cases, these mobile facilities are brought on as a leased surge-capacity solution, but they can also be purchased and integrated as a long-term growth tool for hospitals and firms seeking to expand their capabilities. This flexibility makes them a valuable investment for facilities looking to increase their operational agility and responsiveness.
