- Biosafety Level-2 Mobile Laboratory
Germfree is currently able to offer, for immediate delivery, an advanced Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Mobile Laboratory. This mobile lab is designed to support public health and security operations. The unit is immediately available for your agency, department or company.
This BSL-2 Mobile Lab is highly suited for a range of applications including: – Rapid response for epidemics or potential outbreaks of disease – Agricultural, Veterinary and Public Health Surveillance – Environmental sampling and testing – Forensics and rapid on-site capabilities for law enforcement – Advanced capabilities for First-Responder and Hazmat operations – Disaster management capabilities for regional and national agencies – On-site threat assessment to detect and identify suspicious or unknown materials
- BSL-2 Laboratory Area
This BSL- 2 (Containment Level P2) mobile laboratory is designed to maintain containment and chain of custody for hazardous samples with an unknown risk.
Operator safety is achieved through the integration of primary containment equipment and the use of secure sample transport devices. (Rapid Transfer Ports – RTP).
- Class II BSC (Bio-Hoods)
The laboratory is equipped with two Class II Biological Safety Cabinets, one of which is designed specifically for PCR Reagent preparation. These Class II, Type A2 BSCs are manufactured by Germfree and designed to withstand the rigors of travel over harsh terrain.
Rapid Transfer Ports (RTP)
RTPs are critical components in maintaining sample integrity and security while moving samples between primary containment devices within the laboratory as well as to other laboratories. A Class II and a Class III BSC within the lab are RTP-equipped.
Class III Biological Safety Cabinets (Gloveboxes)
The Class III Biological Safety Cabinet is designed specifically for the safe receipt of unknown biological and chemical samples. The glovebox is provided with a chemical-resistant coating and a high containment filtration system with both HEPA and MIL-SPEC ASZM-TEDA carbon filters. Items can be safely moved out of the glovebox using the RTP system. Samples can be introduced into the glovebox from the outside using a three-door airlock. The Class III BSC is also equipped with a top mounted DVR camera for remote reach-back viewing of processes within the containment area and for recording chain of custody.
Advanced Capabilities: This BSL-2 Mobile Laboratory includes a comprehensive range of equipment and capabilities. These include: Anteroom and Command Control Center; fully integrated Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including two on-board diesel generators and holding tanks for fresh water and gray water; fully integrated HVAC systems for BSL-2 operation; stainless steel casework and security systems.
