California BSL-3 Modular Laboratory
This Modular BSL-3 Laboratory is a standalone single module configuration (53 m2 gross area) outside of a conventional BSL-2 laboratory building. This facility was a design and build project designed primarily for Public Health Department testing.Germfree’s bioGO® Modular Biocontainment Laboratories are available in standard configurations to meet a wide variety of applications. Offsite built facilities are engineered and constructed to meet or exceed the quality of brick and mortar construction while reducing risk and accelerating time to market. Germfree has been manufacturing innovative laboratory solutions for nearly six decades. Our modular biocontainment units deliver critical laboratory capacity in the USA and throughout the world.
Client:San Joaquin County Public Health Laboratory

Decades of Experience
Germfree has more than five decades of experience in biological safety equipment manufacturing. Our systems are installed worldwide and meet the demands for bio-containment at the highest levels.
Our engineers have designed a unit that combines the ideal layout, functionality and quality of construction with practical economic considerations.
Many factors contribute to the performance of a BSL-2+ laboratory. These include core fundamentals such as inward airflow and the integration of Class II Biological Safety Cabinets. BSL-2+ facilities also require optimized decontamination capabilities which include installation of an autoclave and rugged, sealed, chemically-resistant interiors.
