Brian Summerfield serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Germfree, where he brings a rare combination of executive-level operational leadership and commercial acumen to the organization. An operator at heart and systems thinker by training, Brian connects the full arc from shop floor to boardroom, translating manufacturing performance directly into EBITDA growth and enterprise value for the companies and teams he serves.

At Germfree, Brian applies deep cross-industry experience to advancing the company’s commercial strategy, ensuring that every customer engagement is backed by operational credibility and a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver. He is known for building performance systems from the ground up, establishing KPI architecture and daily management cadence, and coaching leaders to institutionalize results that last.

Prior to joining Germfree, Brian held senior operational and engineering leadership roles at global manufacturers including Pentair and Tecomet, and has spent recent years as an embedded interim executive through CS² Advisory, partnering with PE-backed platforms and manufacturers during periods of transformation and growth.

His background spans aerospace, medical device, industrial, and technology infrastructure sectors, giving him a commercially grounded perspective that is rare at the executive level.

Whether partnering with corporate platforms, PE-backed portfolios, or complex manufacturer relationships, Brian brings consistent focus on footprint strategy, supply chain optimization, Lean and OpEx methodologies, and direct linkage to P&L and cash flow. He applies the same financially focused, people-first discipline to every engagement regardless of scale or sector.

Brian’s approach is best defined by where he does his best work, from gemba to boardroom, hands-on and grounded in practical execution. He designs the system, runs the cadence, and ensures every partnership is built for long-term operational success
