The challenge

Germfree was awarded the opportunity to design and fabricate a Mobile BSL-3 Laboratory. This facility was built to be used for combating disease outbreaks in the county of Ventura. Built to conduct critical and advanced disease research on high-risk pathogens, this facility needed to be made to the highest standards.

The answer

Germfree provided an innovative solution by designing and manufacturing a mobile BSL-3 Laboratory specifically for the working with high-risk pathogens, in order to have outbreak response in Ventura County.

This BSL-3 facility is getting put to many different usages from handling with SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and hand-foot-and-mouth disease, to surveilling infectious diseases and pathogen spread in the county. The Mobile Laboratory is deployed to local schools and other public county locations to respond to highly affected areas by these diseases. The facility’s rapid deployment capabilities allow for rapid diagnoses and contain the spread of these diseases.

Germfree’s Mobile BSL-3 Lab has been a proven vital asset for Ventura County. It has provided flexible and robust capabilities for diagnosing, researching, and controlling high-risk pathogens. The versatility and mobility of this facility ensure that Ventura can promptly respond to public health threats, with the primary goal of the well-being of its citizens.
