The challenge

Germfree was awarded the opportunity to help resolve drug shortages, particularly those medicines vital for life-saving treatments. Germfree had a commitment to ensure patient access to essential medicines and groundbreaking cell and gene therapy curative therapies.

The answer

On Demand Pharmaceutical’s breakthrough technology platform, the Shortage Response Pharmacy on Demand (SR-PoD), is comprised of two mobile manufacturing cleanrooms, designed with precision by Germfree Laboratories. The unit maintains a sterile environment without compromising patient safety or quality, located right on the North Mississippi Medical Center’s premises. In partnership with local pharmacy technicians, On Demand Pharmaceuticals will produce vital medicines such as lidocaine and epinephrine, to serve several hospitals in the Norther Mississippi area.
